ARCHITECTURAL CONTROL UPDATES:

LAWN CARE:
Thank you to all homeowners who keep their lawns mowed in a timely manner!  A well cared for lawn and yard makes your home and our community look much more appealing.

We ask that you follow these tips:
  • All lawns, including sides, backs, along driveways and front sidewalk strips are to be mowed, edged and blown during the growing season once per week.
  • During the off-season a minimum of every other week.
  • Lawns should be treated with pre-emergence, post-emergent, fertilizer, fungicide and other chemicals as needed.
  • Existing weeds should be sprayed or hand pulled from lawn on weekly basis.
  • All garden beds should be weed free.
  • Remove all dead plantings, shrubs, and tree's within your own yard.
  • Refresh the Pine Straw or Mulch at least 2 times per year.
  • Please remember that only organic materials are allowed.
  • All trash, leaves, and grass clippings are to be bagged and removed.
  • Please do not dispose of these in the wooded area's.  Grass clippings are toxic to tree's!
Thank you for keeping our community beautiful!

Common Area Trespassing Concerns

Recently a homeowner noticed people cutting down trees and clearing a path in the Wood Hollow HOA common area.

Homeowners have permission to take any timber from the felled trees in the common area's, however trees and shrubs may not be cut down or removed.

If anyone notices activity in the common area that is not from one of our service providers please contact the HOA immediately at: bod@woodhollowhoa.com.

The HOA will work with law enforcement to resolve any trespassing issues.

Department of Water Resources Pipeline Work at Old Peachtree Road

During March 2012, Gwinnett County or its engineering consultant (Columbia Engineering, Inc) will be staking and surveying the property along Old Peachtree Road from Peachtree Court to Winners Circle for future work to replace the water distribution pipelines.

WATER RESTRICTIONS - June 10, 2011

With the arrival of hot weather, Gwinnett County wants to remind residents that outdoor watering is allowed seven days a week but not between the hours of 10:00am and 4:00pm under both state law and county ordinances.

For all other outdoor usage such as filling swimming pools and non-commercial car and power washing, residents must follow the odd/even schedule. Even and un-numbered addresses may use water on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, while odd addresses may use water on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays; no outdoor watering may take place on Fridays.

Applying more than an inch of water to a lawn in a single sprinkling is usually wasteful and most lawn grasses need only an inch per week. Be sure to program your irrigation systems to comply with current watering restrictions and the water needs of turf grasses.

You can find information about outdoor watering on the Department of Water Resources click here.

STREET PAVING - June 2011

The Transportation Department for Gwinnett County re-evaluated Jami Hollow Way and Sylvia Court and found them suitable.

The evaluation for 2011:

Jami Hollow Way rated 74.
Sylvia Court rated 70.

Gwinnett County uses a rating system based on a score of 100.  Residential streets are eligible for resurfacing when the rating is 50 – 55, or below.

Once the rating is accessed then the streets are entered into the bid for resurfacing.  Each year the county resurfaces streets on this list until the funding for repaving is completely used.  Whatever streets do not get paved with that funding are added to the following year’s list.

The county monitors the streets annually for future maintenance.

During the week of August  8, 2011, the potholes will be filled in by the county.

Tree Felling Dates - August 2011

Monday, August 15th  and  Tuesday, August 16th Weather permitting there will be several trees felled in the common area at, or in, the cul-de-sac of both Jami Hollow Way and Sylvia Court.
